In the past, ATM wraps were manufactured of large sheets of vinyl that required a great deal of manual effort and dexterity to apply. Jody Henry, FBJ’s National POP Sales Manager, explains that the concave surface produces wrinkling and bubbling of the vinyl graphic. “It's kind of like trying to take a basketball and gift wrap it,” he says. The large variety of ATM models in the marketplace makes it very hard to produce graphics across an enterprise at an effective cost. As a result, few advertisers bought into the ATM wrap concept.

Recently, however, the wrap has been getting buzz in other industrial applications, such as airline trays and golf cart advertising, and advertisers are once again looking to the ATM space. To meet this challenge, and provide a more cost-effective channel for manufacturers and retailers alike, FBJ has developed a panel graphic system. Rather than provide one large adhesive sheet that must be carefully smoothed onto the ATM surface, FBJ provides a kit of front and side adhesive-backed panels that are installed one at a time to produce the wrapped effect. Manufactured of rigid polycarbonate, the panels are durable enough for heavy-traffic retail environments and can be applied and changed out quickly. Panels are produced, inventoried, and bundled into kits, enabling more cost-effective production and delivery.
