Based in Augusta, GA, Club Car, as part of Ingersoll-Rand, has been an FB Johnston Graphics customer for over ten years. A leader in the manufacturing of golf, utility and
transportation vehicles, Club Car presently offers over thirty models for use in golf
course traverse, grounds maintenance, and many other industrial and commercial applications.
Club Car sought to improve operational efficiencies by identifying scrap, reducing on-hand
inventory to JIT levels, and upping delivery standards. FBJ responded by introducing a Stocking
Program. We began stocking Club Car production lines with point of use inventory in the spring
of 1997, warehousing standard items at our facility in Chapin, SC. FBJ assumed the role of
ordering Club Car's label and decal requirements using their MRP system as a guide to insure
timely delivery. FBJ's On-Site Specialist visits Augusta weekly to support production by stocking
production lines to each week's MRP, assisting with training of Club Car's decal applicators,
and providing a technical resource to design engineers who work with the custom logo element of
their business.
FBJ currently utilizes electronic invoicing and art file transfer to speed up the Stocking Program.
Our On-Site Specialist can view Club Car's MRP & change production requirements from FBJ's Chapin
facility, reducing travel costs considerably. E-commerce capability, an exceptional customer order and
technical service team, and a successful track record of JIT production enabled FBJ to exceed the existing
standards of quality and delivery to CCI, and recently we were delighted to be named Club Car's sole supplier
for custom-printed graphics and logos.
FBJ has been recognized twice by Club Car as a valuable supplier. In 2003 Club Car awarded us with the
"Supply Chain Partners Performance Excellence - Aftermarket Programs" Award, and in 1997, FBJ received
its "Partners In Progress" award. These awards are given to those suppliers who provide Club Car with
outstanding performance and service levels, enabling them to continue as an industry leader.
